ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Zoe Hong and I'm a third-year student at the University of Cincinnati. I am majoring in industrial design and minoring in marketing.

 

I was born and raised in San Francisco, California but I'm excited to explore a new city. The number one question I get after telling people where I'm from is "Why here? Why Cincinnati of all places?". To that, I answer DAAP. Although I love San Francisco and all its beaches and burritos, I could not pass up the bountiful opportunities DAAP and UC has to offer specifically its co-op program.

Design has always been a huge passion of mine ever since the age of four when I was given a cardboard box, a pair of scissors and told to make something. Since then, I have dabbled in woodworking, ceramics, and painting but have always returned to that fun and curious child-like approach to design. I hope to combine my love for design with my many other interests such as backpacking, hiking, upcycling, and sustainability. And I hope that through UHP I'm able to explore my interests both in ways that directly relate and complement my design education. And where ever that may take me, I'm so excited to begin this new chapter of my life!
